Brief Description:

Took the (2) HS-1013 front spar caps I previously trimmed and deburred and nested them one by one into the HS-1002 front spar.  I used the smaller cleco clamps (1/2″ I think) to hold them down tight to get rid of the bow before match drilling the #30 holes with the air drill through the spar web.  I tried to use a drill guide but did not get a great result and feared wallowing out the holes so I took a block of wood and used it sitting next to the bit on one side as a gauge.  This wood trick worked fairly well.  Took the spar cap out, deburred using a 1″ EXL wheel in the die grinder as I find I like this better than the single flute deburr tool in the electric screw driver.  The single flute deburr tool (and all the other spun bits I have) seem to chamfer the edges of the holes even if they only spin 1 time.  With the EXL wheel you get rid of the burr but do not take away excess material from the face of the part.  Once the chips were cleaned replaced the spar cap and clecoed all the new holes, replaced the cleco clamps, and drilled the 3/32″ holes in the spar flanges.
